Photographer
Bhautik Joshi has seen a lot. He's originally from Sydney,
Australia, moved to England as a young kid, and ended up in San
Francisco with his wife about 10 years ago. He's always been
interested in visual storytelling, and his Flickr
page and Instagram account attest to that.
Here he is in his
own words:
"Bhautik is a photo
dork who lives in San Francisco. He focuses on capturing vignettes
of the city's flavor in his street photography, and is involved
with arts advocacy by organizing talks, photo-walks, and meetups.
In his day job, Bhautik is a research engineer at Adobe, continuing
10 years of work in facilitating artistic discovery by building
tools in where technology and art meet."
For Part 1 of his
Storied: San Francisco episode, Bhautik told me about the time he
took the bus over to Treasure Island, set up a time-lapse camera to
capture a major bit of construction on the Bay Bridge, and then ...
well, you'll have to listen to find out what happened
next.
For a look at some other photos he
got of the bridge work, check out this Flickr album.
Bhautik will be
screening an experimental film: 2001: A Picasso
Odyssey at the Another Hole in the Head event at SF
Indiefest. That will take place at 7
p.m. on November 7. For more details, go here.
Bhautik had so many
stories to share when we recorded in the back room at Pig and
Whistle in San Francisco. We talked for nearly two hours. Check
back later this week for another great story Bhautik shared with
me.
